Double Deep pallet racking increases storage efficiency by increasing pallet storage density. Placing a second row of Selective pallet rack immediately behind the first row creates Double Deep pallet racking; eliminating the need for an aisle between two storage racks. This increases storage by up to 25%. This system requires deep reach lift trucks.
Each pick slot has a front and a back pallet. From the aisle, the lift truck accesses the front pallet and with the use of the reach attachment. Last In First Out (LIFO) inventory is accommodated by placing the last pallet in the front slot so it is the first to be picked.
- Increased storage density
- Don’t need 100% immediate access to all pallets
- Stock rotation is less important
- Want flexibility in expanding or re-configuring your storage
- Require an economical solution
