Pushback storage in warehouse Cooler
Founded in Belgium in 1919, Puratos is a global company that offers innovative solutions and high-quality ingredients for the bakery, patisserie, and chocolate sectors. Rack Systems Inc. has the privilege to maintain the 30,000 square foot warehouse located in Canada.
Puratos was quickly running out of storage space for its palletized products and required additional pallet positions in one of the storage coolers. Furthermore, non-standard (CHEPA) pallets were being used in the warehouse.
The cooler had existing Pushback and Selective Rack Systems that was not providing the required high-density pallet positions. Rack Systems Inc. designed the new storage system to maximize the width, and especially, the height of the cooler. The solution was to dismantle and repurpose existing racking, pallet flow, and integrate a full pushback storage system. The system included special carts to support the non-standard one-way pallets.
At Rack Systems Inc., our objective is to provide our client partners with the best possible solution for their warehouse storage challenges. In this case, the former integrator utilized a pallet flow system that only provided the client with a temporary storage solution, and did not consider future expansion.
The project came in on time and on budget, and provided a 25% increase in pallet storage.
